There are places on our planet which literally resemble hell on earth. Places that you'd think were conceived by the minds of apocalyptic science fiction writers. But they are however quite real. Places, closed off to the tourists, places where no photographers are allowed to go, and those that do, get their cameras taken away and arrested by the police.
One such place is Chittagong in Bangladesh. Several beaches around Chittagong bear strange ships, parked in the sand.
Here are the
ship breaking installations, where immense ocean freighters and tankers are torn apart by hundreds of gritty, lean, strong, bronze-skinned, men - by manual labor.
