The Two-Fork Toothpick Trick

This streaming video shows a fun trick that you can use to impress your friends. But can you explain how it works?

It works because the fork handles angle back toward the cup.

The load-bearing point is the interface between the toothpick and the edge of the cup. The center of gravity is inside the curve defined by the forks; with the toothpick placed as it is, the center of gravity is placed at the edge, and the whole structure balances.

But... Why the flame in toothpick put out?

This works even if there are no spoons on the toothpick. If the flame reaches the border of the cup, the area of the flame on the toothpick gets smaller and smaller and the flame extinct.

Creo que la llama se apaga porque la superficie del palillo expuesta se reduce (ya que casi la mitad de abajo esta pegada al borde). Además, le sopló al palillo.
