Where Do You Stand?

It's a well-known fact the we - the Dutch - are the tallest people in the world. In a century's time, the Dutch have gone from being among the smallest people in Europe to the largest in the world. The men now average six feet one - and the women five feet eight.

The unofficial explanation is that we were kicked in the butt so many times when growing up. The official explanation is that it's a composite code for all the factors that make up a society's well-being. In other words, we live healthier lives. That's why the United Nations now uses height to monitor nutrition in developing countries.

Me, I'm 5 ft. 11 in. which makes me 1.5 in. shorter than the average Dutchman and 0.6 in. taller than the average American. Here are my results:
