Lantern fishes are small, deep sea fish of the large family Myctophidae. The Myctophidae are represented by 246 species in 33 genera, having a circumglobal distribution. They are aptly named after their conspicuous use of bioluminescence, phosphorescent light organs along each body wall.Lantern Fishes is a beautiful animation by Adam Gault and illustrated by Stefanie Augustine.
