Your domain without the blogspot worked, but the address bar doesn't change when I open a link. I have the same problem at my site if you don't use the www, but support says everything is fine, so I don't have any advice to change it.
So I do what you are doing, direct everyone to the best-working URL.

I use bloglines and it's not picking up the rss feed, even when I linked directly to it...just fyi
