Fractals are geometric patterns that are repeated at ever smaller scales to produce irregular shapes and surfaces that cannot be represented by classical geometry. Fractals are used especially in computer modeling of irregular patterns and structures in nature.Objects that are now described as fractals were discovered and described centuries ago. They can be found in indigenous African craft work. Artists were seeing fractals in nature and transfered the patterns in painting, design and sculpture.
