A photograph captured on April 3, 2014 by the Navcam of the Curiosity rover from the surface of Mars was beamed back to the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California. The image has captured a strange light emanating outward from the surface of the planet.
Conspiracy theorists said it could be a sign that there is life on the red planet. But Jet Propulsion Laboratory expert Doug Ellison said it was likely caused by a cosmic ray hitting the surface.
