ALF was an American sitcom that aired on NBC from 1986 to 1990. The title character is Gordon Shumway, a friendly extraterrestrial nicknamed ALF (an acronym for Alien Life Form), who crash lands in the garage of the suburban middle-class Tanner family.
You may remember that the cat-eating alien ALF came from the planet Melmac, but there's plenty you (probably) don't know about Gordon Shumway and his classic television show.
