I would agree with gbradley, but have another thought. Perhaps, in addition to laying down a track, the route data on all the sidewalks to be scraped will be fed into a larger database and then a program will come up with the most efficient paths for each of the sidewalk plows to follow.
I don't think it's about GPS. I think it's telling that the machines are actually scraping. That's odd because where there is no snow or ice, scraping causes damage and looks ugly. I don't have an answer though.. Stanley

@gbradley in order to be of any use in that situation it would have to be accurate down to an inch. It isn't. Period.
