Candlestick Park was a sports stadium located in San Francisco, California. The stadium was originally built as the home of Major League Baseball's San Francisco Giants, who played there from 1960 until moving into Pacific Bell Park in 2000. It was also the home field of the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League from 1971 to 2013.
Now, Candlestick Park is nearly gone. Only a few sections of the 55-year-old stadium remain standing as a months-long demolition is underway, making room for a new mall and housing units. Here's a history of Candlestick Park in photos.
