This is at the mouth of the Grey river on the west coast of the South Island. The boats have to cross the bar at the head of the river to make it to port. These guys are clowns for trying this in that weather though, it is a very treacherous and well known danger and has claimed it's fair share of fishing boats and fishermen over the years.
