The Amazing Escherian Stairwell Illusion

This video shows an endless staircase at the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York that has amazed students and baffled those who've tried to figure it out. It's an architectural marvel that seems to violate the laws of physics and basic logic by looping back into itself.

The Escherian Stairwell is actually a hoax. It's a failed Kickstarter project. The team wanted $ 12,000 but only raised $ 940. They wanted to create a myth. Why a technology institute wants to create a myth, I don't know.

It is a cheap trick played on the clip viewer, and participating people are also in the know.
They could have done a better illusion by a Moebius strip type of construction.

Here's a clear explanation of vertical split screen, as used in the RIT film: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WzfdpY29nAs
