Bees close to a biogas plant in northern France have begun producing blue and green honey, causing concern among apiculturists. Bees were seen returning to their hives carrying unidentified colourful substances, so their keepers began an investigation.
They found that the biogas plant, which is sited close to the town of Ribeauville in Alsace, has been processing waste from a Mars factory near Strasbourg that produces M&Ms.
