Garbage Collection In Taiwan

In Taiwan most families do not have rubbish bins next to their house for the garbage trucks to pick up once a week. Garbage trucks alert people to their arrival with a high-pitched tune. Residents gather on the streets with their bags of rubbish, and have to throw them into the trucks themselves.

When you consider the population and the workload of its garbage collection, this routine is reasonable and efficient for the people with 7 months of summer every year.
