Yesterday marked the 600th anniversary of Joan of Arc's birth. Maybe! No official records of the date exist, and Joan herself could only guess she was 19 during her trial for heresy in 1431. (Her friends and relatives provided the same estimate for her birth year - 1412 - during the posthumous hearings that nullified her conviction two decades later.)
In the years following the execution of the iconic French heroine and Roman Catholic saint, her birthday came to be celebrated on January 6, the day of the Epiphany in the Christian religion. Here are a few facts about the legendary 'Maid of Orléans' that might come as a surprise.

Very interestig...
I just read 'The Lady of the Rivers' and although it's fiction, it starts with the main character's introduction to Joan of Arc and it was mentioned that almost none of the women knew their exact birth dates. At best they could guess the season or month and the year. Crazy!
Here is another interesting fact: She was not French!
