Today is 'Sneak Some Zucchini onto Your Neighbors' Porch Day.' The day was established by Thomas and Ruth Roy from Pennsylvania and due to the overzealous planting of zucchini, citizens are asked to drop off baskets of the squash on neighbors' doorsteps.

I once planted two zucchini plants then went away on a month long roadtrip. While I was gone, Tuffy P prepared zucchini in every possible way, including all the zucchini bread and muffins her and the neighbours could eat. When I returned the yard seemed full of zucchini, some of them hugs. I didn't know there was a day to sneak them onto my neighbour's porch. I sure wish I did.
