Someone has a sense of humor in Riverside, Iowa, USA. The small city along the banks of the English River is, in Star Trek mythology, the birthplace of a certain Captain James T. Kirk. One resident decided that Kirk's birth to be had to be celebrated with a public monument.
I'm not sure where the year 2228 on the monument comes from because according to the Startrek Database, James Tiberius Kirk was born om March 22 in the year 2233.
