WebP (pronounced weppy) is a method of lossy compression that can be used on photographic images. The degree of compression is adjustable so a user can choose the trade-off between file size and image quality. WebP can reduce file sizes by 40 percent compared to JPEGs.
Webmasters, web developers and browser developers can use the WebP format to create smaller, better looking images that can help make the web faster.

What we have here is a chicken/egg situation. WebP looks good, but there aren't any browsers that can display the WebP format yet. Google says they're going to add support in a future release of Chrome, but what about Firefox, Safari, and (eep!) MSIE? Not only that, but having to work from the command line doesn't bode well for designers who are notoriously loathe to work in that way.
But, it's being promoted by Google, so it'll probably be everywhere before too long, and some enterprising person or company will build a friendly GUI to wrap it all up.
I would like to exchange links with your site presurfer.blogspot.com
Is this possible?
