First Robot Able To Develop And Show Emotions
When Nao is sad, he hunches his shoulders forward and looks down. When he's happy, he raises his arms, angling for a hug. When frightened, Nao cowers, and he stays like that until he is soothed with some gentle strokes on his head.
Nothing out of the ordinary, perhaps, except that Nao is a robot, developed by a team from the University of Hertforshire, England. Nao is the world's first robot that can develop and display emotions. He can form bonds with the people he meets depending on how he is treated. The more he interacts with someone, the more Nao learns a person's moods and the stronger the bonds become.

Why is it that the most populous nations are trying so desperately to create companion robots? Can they not communicate with each other as humans?
It may surprise you how many people in those populous countries do not communicate with each other, for various reasons.
Companion robots offer a variety of functions. They can help you monitor your home remotely, aid in communication, entertain you or even help you get up in the morning.
I think that they have still very much to work at. The system is to predictible, linear I whould say. Still is nice.
The idea is nice but the system is too predictible. You have to "scratch " the robot and it will be happy. There is still work to do.
