World's Largest Airship Inflated For The First Time

The first inflation of the E-Greens Bullet 580 Airship occurred at Garrett Coliseum in Montgomery, Alabama, on Monday, May 17, 2010. Test flights will begin in early summer, 2010. All the action in this 2-minute video took 6 hours in real life.

World's largest? As usual the Americans seem to have redefined the word "world" to mean USA. This thing is tiny compared to the true world's largest, the Hindenburg and others of the same period. And as for it's lifting effort; 1 tonne? That's laughable. What does that work out at? Around twelve healthy adults with no luggage. Brilliant. Not.

Well, go get the Hindenburg, and we'll set them side by side to compare. Oh, wait...nevermind.

Yes, the largest airship that ever flew was the 804-foot-long Hindenburg. But this is the largest airship in existence.

First poster has quite a point. This 'worlds largest' statement excels in redundancy

This ship does look small compared to my remembrance of the large Zeppelins. Oh the Humanity. Gizz
