Electrolux designed a pair of concept vacuum shoes, merging a vacuum cleaner into each pair of footwear. The only thing you have to do is put on a pair and shuffle around the house. It is not known how the shoes will be powered or whether this concept will be a reality in the future.

I suppose it would be quite plausible to have a system whereby when the person stepped on the shoe in walking, air was pushed out of a vent on top, and when they released the pressure on the foot, it quickly sucked air from around the foot sucking things up. It wouldn't have enough power to suck much of anything up though.
