The Manhattan Street Corners is photographer Richard Howe's working title for a project to produce a comprehensive photographic portrait of everyday life at street level in daytime Manhattan. Between March and November, 2006, he systematically photographed each and every one of the island's roughly 11,000 street corners.
The photographs capture the many identities of a multi-faceted city. The sequences of images read like a film where we are peering into the lives of the people who define the city's character.
