Ford doesn't even come close to the grandfather of all cars. That honor goes to Karl Benz's Patent-MotorWagen, from 1885. There's a video of it being started recently posted on Youtube.
@pterosonus - ah but you have to remember real history differs from US history. Henry Ford invented the motor car and Bill Gates invented the computer. ;)

Karl Benz's Patent Motorwagen was the great-grandfather of all cars. So you could say that the T-Ford was the grandfather.
